Chebeague Island Library and Community Center

The Chebeague Island Library provides a welcoming center to foster the learning of the entire Island community. The library cultivates knowledge and enjoyment and brings enrichment and stimulus to Chebeague through diverse collections, innovative technology, research and educational resources, programs and services in response to island interests.

With a collection of nearly 14,000 materials and access to external resources like the Portland Public Library PALS program, Cloud Library for eBooks, and the Digital Maine Library for research, we're here to serve your diverse needs. From computer and internet access to Ancestry.com through the Maine State Library’s online resources, explore all the offerings we have available to enrich your experience at the library.

  • Monthly Book Club

    Each month we offer a chance for community members to participate in book discussions. For 2025 we are meeting the second Thursday of each month.

  • Monthly Poetry

    First Saturday of each month at 3pm

  • Weekly Children’s Story Time

    Winter: Saturdays at 10:30am

    Summer: Tuesdays at 10:30am

  • Teen Time

    First Wednesday of each month from 3:30pm - 6pm
